Opinions on the book of Revelation are abundant and varied. Almost every study is accompanied by a creative, highly detailed, artistic chart of events.
Although it may be interesting to ideate on end time events, we must never lose sight of the main point.
The main point is found in the first five words of the book: “The revelation of Jesus Christ” (Rev. 1:1). What is a revelation? A revelation is the act of making something known. Like when you open a present, you are revealing (making known) the contents of the package. Similarly, the book of Revelation was written to make Jesus Christ known.
But wait—don’t we have four Gospels that reveal Jesus to us? Yes, but this is different. In the Gospels, we see Jesus as the Suffering Servant, Who is described in Philippians 2:5-8. In revelation, we see Jesus as the triumphant King described in Philippians 2:9-11.
Instead of focusing on the Rapture, Tribulation, and Antichrist, focus on Jesus, Who will “judge the world in righteousness” (Acts 17:31). You can rest assured that, even though evil reigns all around, Jesus will destroy sin just like He defeated death when He rose from the dead.
