Excitement rose within me as we drove down to the water. We were fishing saltwater again! When we got there, I jumped out to start setting up the rods. I tied on a red leadhead and waited for Joe to catch some bait in our cast net. He pulled up one small mullet, so I threaded a chunk of mullet onto my hook and cast it out. Suddenly, WHAM! I started reeling frantically, and, after a long battle, pulled up an 18” hardhead catfish. After that, we had lots of fun pulling up catfish after catfish. We also got some black drum in the mix. I would say Texas fishing is pretty good.
