What is your life?

According to the Bible, Life "is a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away" (James 4:14).

The Gospel is the answer to the most important questions of our short, fleeting lives. According to I Corinthians 15:3-4, the Gospel is the good news that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again.

What Is the Purpose of Life?

The purpose of life is to have a relationship with God and bring glory to Him. In fact, God created us to be special, for He made us "in His image" (Gen. 1:27). But . . . God is holy (I Peter 1:15-16) and we are sinners. God is perfectly righteous and good--so pure and bright that we cannot even imagine how good He is (I John 1:5). Because He is good, He is also just (Deuteronomy 32:4). So, this means that God is angry with us because of our sin. We have ruined our relationship with Him.

What Does God Expect of You?

God's Law shows that He expects perfection. God's Law can be summarized in the Ten Commandments. If you have ever lied, lusted, or used God's name flippantly or irreverently, then you have broken God's law. Wanting what other people have, dishonoring your parents, and stealing (no matter the value of the object) are also violating God's Law. The Bible says that everyone has sinned (Rom. 3:23). This means we all deserve God's punishment.

What Happens after You Die?

After you die, you are judged for how you have behaved. "[I]t is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). God's sentence for lawbreakers is eternal death in Hell--a place of eternal pain, sorrow, and fire (Romans 6:23; Revelation 21:8). There is no way to escape Hell on our own. Being kind, going to church, taking care of people--all those things are like trying to bribe God the Judge (Ephesians 2:8-9).

What Is the Gospel/Good News?

But . . . God is loving as well as just (I John 4:8). That's why He sent Jesus to die on a Cross! Jesus, God in the flesh, died in the place of guilty sinners (2 Corinthians 5:21), suffering God's wrath instead of us (I John 2:1-2). He paid our fine! Now, we can go free on Judgment Day because He has taken the punishment we deserve. Then, He rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). God can justly offer us the gift of eternal life in Heaven with Him after we die because Jesus has made us right with God. The Bible describes Heaven as a place of perfect peace and joy, with no sorrow or pain (Rev. 21:3-4).

To accept this gift, you must repent (turn from your sin) and trust Christ's sacrifice as the only Way to have eternal life after death (Mark 1:15). You can be right with God today and be sure of your relationship with Him. You won't have to be afraid to die anymore because Jesus rescues us from the fear of death (Hebrews 2:15). He wants to rescue you and everyone from Hell! Those who repent and trust Jesus become entirely new people whom Jesus changes from the inside out (2 Corinthians 5:17). He washes them clean and comes and lives inside them (John 15:4), making them His children (I John 3:1). They keep on following Jesus, and He keeps making them more like Him (Philippians 3:21), until they get to Heaven to be with Him forever.

What will you do with Jesus? Will you trust Him today, or will you reject Him and face His wrath on Judgment Day? We are praying that you will decide to turn away from your own way and trust in Jesus alone!

You may not have tomorrow! Please think seriously about this, because it affects your eternal destiny!

It’s simple: God is holy and just. That means He must punish sin. Because we have all broken God’s Law, we are sinners who deserve God’s wrath. God’s punishment for sin is eternal death in Hell. But because He loves you, He became a Man—Jesus-- and died on the Cross to be punished instead of you. Then, Jesus was buried and rose again alive into Heaven! To receive this gift of eternal life, you must repent (turn from your sin) and trust in Jesus’ sacrifice to save you from God’s wrath against your sin.
